Well, it is a new year and time for a new project. I had mentioned in a previous post that I was about to start a new round robin with my aunt.
So today my mom and I ventured out to my favourite quilt store. and purchased our fabric.
Mom's fabric she is going to do a Rail Fence pattern.
My fabric. I'm doing a 9 patch.
The sewing room is ready and waiting for us to get at it.
Here are the pictures of mom's progress.
Now, take a close look at the seams. This is a square done by someone who has never quilted before and her comment was..."oh look, it is off a bit". Now I am no expert but I don't believe anyone could get this more perfect.
WAY TO GO MOM!!!! One down 11 more to go...LOL
Now pictures of my progress.
My finished square.
The only problem is I don't think we bought enough fabric(we will have enough for one row)..so off to my stash.
Here is picture of the fabric from my stash I have for my additional blocks.
I don't think I want to do a second row of 9 patch. Not sure what to do for my second row. Would love to hear your ideas. What should my second row be. Remember it has to be very very easy...LOL.

Hey Quilting Newbie: Both squares look pretty perfect to me----Love the colours - and of course your mother's would be perfectly lined up - she wants to show us up LOL- good job 11 more to go!!!!!!!!for the first row that is-- I am going up to start my second row now
Those blocks both look great and your mom's is hardly off a bit! LOL! I am not one who really worries about being "off" a bit. It adds character. As for your second row...mmm not sure....that's tough so many great blocks! Can't wait to see it finished!
Love the fabric, and fast work too,
Have a great week
Take care and have a wonderful year
My suggestion is that you do a nine patch within a nine patch for the next row Steph. I was looking online at some yesterday and think it would be perfect.
Great job guys!! Starting mine tomorrow. Can't wait!!! :)
Amy
Nice job, the two of you! I like the choice of fabric.
Off a bit? Where? I can't see anything but perfection.
Very nice! Great job S and J. Have you figured out your second set yet? Can't wait to follow you all on this one! Good luck and Happy sewing.
