Baby Quilt is done

The baby quilt is done. I can't believe I finished a project..lol. I did all the cutting last night after work. Today I did all the sewing. Momma Newbie did all the fringe cutting. (we now call her the claw because her hand is so sore...lol)

This is the first time I've washed a quilt after finishing it. I am always too afraid to wash it, in case it shrinks or the colours run. I am pleased with the results, I'll have to do it again.

A special thank you to 32.5 for her tip on the washable markers. That is what I used to draw the x on each square, and it really did wash right out. Crayola washable markers are now in my quilting tool chest.

Ok, so are you ready to see the masterpiece??? Here we go.

It's lovely. For the clipping - have you seen those little scissors with he spring - especially for clipping? The make life easier for rag quilts - that's what I used with the ugly orange and green thing my kitties are snoozing on.

Hi PWL,
Yes, luckily that is what my mom used. My aunt lent me a pair of them. I am going to have to invest in a pair for myself. I see more rag quilts in my future...lol.

I'm actually speachless/typeless! So pretty! I'm so relieved the marker washed out! Congratulations and I hope Momma Newbie's hand feels better soon.

You did a great job. Rag quilts are so soft and cuddly. Now that you have mastered one size blocks, you'll have to make one alternating block sizes, 4 patch and solids. Make sure you do the math and leave enough for the fringe. I have made a few and my boys love them. They wash up great.

You did a marvelous job on the quilt. Good choice of fabric -- it looks great. I think you are going to have to take the "Newbie" off your name.
The soon-to-be newest member of the family will be warm and cosy.
